God is the giver of every good gift, the gift of life itself, and in Christ, we have been promised abundant life. As Christians, we believe that giving back to God through our tithes and offerings is a way of showing our deepest gratitude for the grace we have been given through Jesus Christ. Not only is giving an act of gratitude, but it conveys our trust in the Creator of all things, the One who promises to provide us with everything that we need for living a faithful life. Finally, giving tithes and offerings to the church helps the church to continue to fulfill the Great Commission that Jesus gave the disciples:
19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to obey everything that I’ve commanded you. Look, I myself will be with you every day until the end of this present age.”
